Hauptseminar, 2 SWS, WPFL BWL-M ab 1, WPFL Economics-M ab 1, WPFL Wirt-IngMA ab 1

Topic:

Innovation diffusion and network collaboration in and between the non-profit and public sectors

Learning Goals:

To understand innovation processes in the non-profit sector as exemplified in the victim services sector in Schleswig-Holstein. Participants in the seminar will apply empirical methods to analyze the collected data and complete a group paper on innovation ability, capacity, and propensity in networks. Participants are also expected to present their results as a group at the end of the seminar.

    Background:

This semester, the Applied Innovation Research seminar will focus on innovation diffusion and network collaboration in the non-profit and public sectors. Accompanying the KOPS: Koordination von Opferbetreuung und psychologischer Soforthilfe Project (Coordination of Victim Services and Immediate Psychological Care), surveys on network structure and innovation activity will be sent out to organizations active in the provision of victim services in Schleswig-Holstein. Students will assist in survey acquisition and conduct follow-up interviews when necessary. The goal is to learn about how innovative ideas are generated, who collaborates or challenges innovations, and how innovations are fostered or defeated in the non-profit sector.
