Thomas Huynh (M.Sc.) studied economics and Chinese culture (Sinology) at the University of Hamburg. During his bachelor's degree, he spent two semesters abroad in Shanghai to gain initial work experience in supply chain management and sales as an intern at Philips Lighting Electronics. Thereafter he studied business administration at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel with a focus on technology management, supply chain management and marketing. For his master's thesis, he dealt with an empirical study about the influence of university hospital-industry cooperation on the innovation performance of German university hospitals.

After completing his master's degree, Thomas Huynh worked for 2.5 years at Kühne + Nagel in Hamburg in the IT project management area for the development and implementation of new software components and applications. Since October 2019, Thomas Huynh works at the Chair of Technology Management at the CAU in Kiel and at Stryker as a researcher and doctoral student. As part of his doctorate, he is researching in the EU-Interreg project "ACCESS & ACCELERATION" about "the User involvement in the innovation process in the health sector with a focus on postoperative care of trauma patients " and about "Challenges and barriers in the adoption of medical technology service innovations".
